Salsa of the Green Persuasion

Salsa Verde attempt number two.
The first attempt, I must divulge, was splattered all over my floor by my life-threateningly (no joke, long story) graceless boyfriend. The man hadn't quite mastered the screwing in and unscrewing of our new blender in the process. How many people does it take to unscrew a blender (without destroying its contents)? I kid, I kid! (Love you, dear) Stop me before the cost of writing this post outweighs the benefits. Of course, he made up for his folly by concocting this delicious batch. Mmm.

Necessary Ingredients:
Seven tomatillos
Two jalapeños
Two cloves of garlic
Juice of one half lime

Half of one small-medium sized onion
One and a half tbsp. of fresh cilantro
Salt and pepper to taste

Necessary Supplies:
Knife to chippity-chop
Baking sheet
(Fool proof) Blender
Container for salsa

Step Uno - Cut the tomatillos in half and put them on a baking sheet. Preheat oven to 450 degrees and roast for approximately fifteen minutes (or until soft(or until your kitchen smells yummy)).

Step Dos, Tres, Cuatro, Cinco
- Chop all fruits, vegetables and herbs, including the jalapeños, lime, cilantro, garlic, and onion. Slice the lime into pieces that can be easily squeezed. All other ingredients should be chopped into very small pieces.

Step Seis - Play with your food. Always. I <3 cephalopods!

Step Siete - Blend all ingredients together, including the tomatillos, jalapeños, cilantro, garlic, and onion. Squeeze the lime juice into the blender, as well. Watch for seeds! Add salt and pepper to taste. Blend into a salsa consistency that you like.

Step Final - Jar the salsa and refrigerate! I recycled an old salsa jar for this purpose.

El Final
(Mmm, muy bueno!)
